On Thursday 18th January Peter joined Cllr Claire Harris to celebrate the achievements of two community groups from the village.
Mercenfeld Primary and ME Sports were both nominated as part of Hinckley & Bosworth Local Sport & Health Alliance Active Awards.
Speaking at the event Peter said
It's great to see two groups from Markfield nominated for awards for their community efforts in getting more young people involved in sports and keeping active.
My thanks go to the teachers at Mercenfeld Primary, and the volunteers at ME Sports for making Markfield proud!
