Peter recently visited KFC in Birstall to speak with franchisees and employees about the training opportunities offered by the company – particularly benefiting young people in the county.
As part of the visit Peter had a tour of the operations, spoke with employees about their own career journeys, and even got to cook his own ‘takeaway’ chicken!
KFC has operated throughout the UK for the last 60 years and places training at the heart of its employee business model.
Their ‘Hatch’ Program offers under 25 year-olds the chance to participate in an 8-week employability scheme; with many participants then going onto full employment.
It was great to visit KFC here in Birstall and learn more about the training opportunities available for young people. I am passionate about supporting and promoting education and training: The food & hospitality sector is an important partner in this mission.
Disappointingly the business would not share the Colonel’s secret recipe!
