On Friday 24th October Peter visted Saladworks in Leicester Forest East, who produce high-quality ready meals that are stocked in the nation's biggest supermarkets like Tesco and Sainsbury's.
Samworth Brothers, who run the site, was originally founded in 1896 and now has more than 12,500 employees 🏭 – they also own some of the UK’s most recognisable brands, like Ginsters and Soreen.
During his visit he discussed the company’s commitment to investing in skills 📈, the outreach they do in the community ✅, and how they are innovating by bringing in technology 🎯.
Speaking after his visit Peter said:
Thanks to Chairman, Mark, and the rest of the team for giving me a tour of the factory.
It was good to meet three of the firm’s apprentices; Zartag, who is studying to be an accountant, Adam, on the Health and Safety Team and Ethan who is one of their trainee engineers.
Its excellent to see businesses like this choosing to operate in Mid Leicestershire.
