During Wednesdays Work and Pensions Committee, Peter questioned experts on the Child Maintenance Service.
He first asked how fairness can be restored to the system and whether current payment calculation formulas strike the right balance.
Many constituents have contacted him about the CMS and have pointed to the same concerns: calculations that don't reflect reality, enforcement that falls short, and payments that feel anything but fair.
Peter knows that the system doesn't work as it should and children are losing out.
After the Committee session, Peter said:
“I share the concerns of many constituents on this issue and raised them during today’s committee session. I am determined to continue to hold the CMS to account until parents on both sides, and their children, get the fairness and reliability they deserve.”
