At a recent Work and Pensions Committee session Peter pressed the Pensions Minister, Torsten Bell, over the government’s Inheritance Tax hike on private pensions.
Peter believes that those who work hard should be able to pass down their savings, if they choose to do so, free from government interference.
But Labour, not content with the highest tax burden on record, have chosen to include private pension assets within the scope of inheritance from next year.
Peter opposes this shocking tax grab that represents another kick in the teeth for hard working families.
He will do all he can to ensure the government changes course.
