Peter demands urgent action on youth unemployment

In Parliament yesterday, Peter held the government to account for their appalling record on youth unemployment.

The number of young people Not in Education, Employment or Training (NEET) is projected to reach 1.25 million over the next five years.

Most young people want to work, but Labour’s Jobs Tax and (Un)employment Rights Act have made it harder for businesses to employ them.

Peter urged the government to review these policies so that young people can get onto the first rung of their career ladder. 

He will continue to do all he can to support young people in having a fair chance in life.
