Prior to his election as your Member of Parliament Peter worked for 17 years as a Chartered Accountant in a number of private sector businesses.
Since his election he has maintained a strong professional relationship with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales (ICAEW); and was pleased to chair a local roundtable on skills and apprenticeships.
Attendees included representatives from a number of professional service companies, large and small, who contributed to a constructive discussion on the skills agenda.
Speaking after the event Peter said
I'd like to thank the ICAEW & MHA for facilitating this round table on a really important topic: skills and apprenticeships.
I firmly believe that getting a good job, a career and having aspiration is the mechanism for improving social mobility.
I shall continue to champion this cause in parliament so that every young person has the best opportunity in life to succeed!
