Earlier this week, Peter wrote to the Chancellor, Rachel Reeves, to demand a reversal of the Visitor Levy in England.
The measures, which were announced in the budget, would leave holidaymakers footing a tax bill to simply enjoy a holiday. Peter believes that hard-working constituents should be able to enjoy a well-deserved break; without yet more taxation.
Unfortunately, Labour are intent on hammering working people with an additional tax, at a time when many are already struggling financially.
The measure will also drain income from businesses and local communities that rely on tourism, with more than 200 hospitality businesses opposing the measures.
Peter is urging Rachel Reeves to change course without delay.
