Last week, Peter Bedford MP held a meeting with the Police and Crime Commissioner to discuss the feedback he’s received from his recent community crime surveys.
Peter shared the recurring concerns raised by residents across Mid Leicestershire—particularly around burglaries and anti-social behaviour—and stressed the importance of a clear, coordinated response to tackle these issues head-on.
“Our communities must feel safe,” Peter said. “Far too many residents have been affected by break-ins or persistent disruption in their neighbourhoods. These are not minor problems—they impact daily life, and they need real attention.”
Peter and the Commissioner explored ways to increase police visibility, improve response times, and strengthen community engagement.
The meeting reaffirmed Peter’s commitment to making community safety a top priority, and he pledged to continue working closely with local law enforcement and residents to deliver real improvements.
