Peter Bedford MP voted for a series of Lords Amendments to limit the impact of the Government’s hike in Employer National Insurance Contributions. Peter and Conservative MPs voted in favour of Lords Amendments that would have exempted small businesses, young workers, charities and hospices from the increase.
Unfortunately, the Labour Government forced their MPs to vote in favour of the rise in Employer National Insurance Contributions rather than to protect businesses in the UK.
Since his election in July Peter has met with numerous charity groups and small businesses throughout Mid Leicestershire and he completely understands their concerns about the hike in NI Contributions.
Peter will continue to pressure the Government to keep taxes and regulation low; which benefits us all.
