The Club and Institute Union (CIU) is a voluntary association of private members’ clubs in Great Britain and Northern Ireland, and the oldest of its kind.
Clubs provide a positive social space for people come together and have long been part of the fabric of British society.
That’s why Peter met the CIU’s leadership team in Parliament this week to discuss establishing an All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) to promote the work of, and highlight the challenges faced by, this sector.
Mid Leicestershire is home to many of these clubs, often at the heart of the community, such as the Ex-Servicemen’s Club in Groby!
Peter encourages people to contact their local MPs to support the creation of this APPG.
