Yesterday, I had the honour of attending Leicestershire & Rutland Royal British Legion: Annual Festival of Remembrance.
This year has special significance as it’s also the 80th anniversary of the guns falling silent, marking the end of the Second World War.
We paid tribute to the thousands of British, Commonwealth and Allied soldiers who gave so much in the fight against the Axis.
To those who sacrificed their lives, those who returned with life-changing injuries, and to all who serve, and have served, we thank you:
You have given so much, so we can enjoy the freedoms that we do: for that, the nation, and the world, will forever remember you.
